Puppy Information
Our puppies are born in the home and
raised with continuous human bonding and socialization. We are there
when the puppies take their first breath, when they open their eyes,
when they begin to walk, when they eat their first puppy mush meal,
and when they leave to go to their new home. Stoneridge puppies have
the opportunity to grow up around other dogs, cats, horses, a goat and
people of all ages. This socialization process combined with sound
genetics gives you a German Shepherd that will be second to none!
Litter
Observations, Personality Profiles,
Temperament Evaluation and Pricing
We do litter observations beginning
at Day One. Each puppy is identified with a different color/style of
ribbon or yarn. The males wear one style (usually yarn) and the girls
wear another style (usually ribbon). This identifies them as
individuals from day one.
Between the ages of 5-7 weeks, each
puppy wears a different color or print of collar. This is the
beginning of 2 weeks of intensive observation, interaction, formal
socialization, and documentation that make up our personality profiles/temperament evaluations. This is not a quick 10 minute temperament
test done in a few minutes on just one day. It involves hours of
observation, interaction and documentation on each puppy. When the
puppies are 7 weeks old, all of their important information is compiled
and written up. Once this process is complete, the pricing is done.
You then have the litter observations, personality
profiles/temperament evaluations and pricing when you choose your
puppy at 8 weeks.
If you are an out-of-state buyer on
our reservation list and it is not possible for you to choose and pick
up your puppy in person, we will provide litter observations, personality profiles/temperament
evaluations and pricing. It will be at least the next best thing to being
here in person. We, of course, are always available to answer
questions and give input when asked. We do nationwide shipping as
needed.
