About Us
Stoneridge Shepherds is located on 65 beautiful acres in rural Springhill, Kansas. We have woods to run in, creeks to swim in, and meadows to play in. It's a wonderful place to grow up or call home!
We have been into our beloved shepherds for over 20 years now. We raise them because we LOVE them! Therefore, each time we produce a litter we try to improve and enhance this great breed and do NOT just produce puppies for the sake of producing them. We constantly strive to improve upon perfection!
Our first shepherd girl is the reason we love and raise them today. She grew up with our children and was the world’s best babysitter. This has become her "living" legacy. May you rest in peace girl. We love you!
Our dogs are carefully screened for health problems prior to breeding. Preventive health measures such as wormings and vaccinations are kept current. We have exceptionally high standards when it comes to breeding. We stand behind each puppy we sell and offer lifetime breeder support.
A great deal of research and thought go into each mating. Our lines are carefully selected from some of the finest bloodlines the world has to offer. These bloodlines are carefully searched and researched in order to produce the best of the BEST!
We selectively choose TOP West German showlines that have proven their ability to work, have outstanding temperaments, and can pass those qualities onto their offspring. It IS possible to have a show dog that will work and a working dog that will show!
An enormous amount of time goes into each litter we raise. We do not do a quick ten minute PAT test (puppy aptitude test) on our puppies like most breeders do. I can tell you why a lot of breeders do the PAT test instead of our very labor intensive litter observations, individual personality profiles, and temperament evaluations—TIME! It take hours and hours of time to observe, interact, document, and compile all of the information that go into our observations and profiles. However, this gives you, the puppy buyer, a much more complete and accurate picture. We, of course, are always available to answer questions and/or make suggestions for our puppy buyers so they can get the best match for what their needs are. We are available post sale, for lifetime breeder support!
There are two things that make a really GREAT dog-one is genetics and the other is the way that the puppy was raised/started the first weeks of their life. Those first few weeks make all the difference in the world for the REST of the dog’s life! You as a buyer can do nothing to change either the dog’s genetics or it’s start in life once you get them home! Choose who and how you want that puppy raised very carefully!
